ARISE BUSINESS CLUB: OUR KEY OBSERVATIONs ON DECISIONs/MOVEs GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA SHOULD MAKE TO MOVE THE NATION FORWARD.

doc 1. A nation that sits back and watch the gap between its rich and poor widen and deepen cannot make real progress. It shouldn't be a thing of pride to our nation that the rich is getting richer and the poor is getting poorer.

 doc 2. Rapid and continuous development of infrastructures, as well as policies that support MSMEs is starting point. In our case, as in the case of many nations, government should have business to do with business. The model of PPP adopted to facilitate infrastructural development shouldn't be detrimental to raising the well-being of the majority/masses.

 doc 3. Corruption has twin evil: it creates rich people without value in the system and it makes budget performance false.

 doc 4. Government needs strategic drive away from oil dependence to industrial revolution within specified time frame. There should be sense of urgency in this direction.

 

 doc 5. We face the future like every other nation. How prepared are we? We need an empowered middle class.

 

 doc 6. We're a 'consumer' nation, not a 'producing' one. We 'consume' tech gadgets, petroleum products, etc.

 doc 7. No 'consumer' nation will be able to stand the dictates of the future if its real sector is not activated.

 doc 8. We must create an empowered middle class that will take up the challenge to drive real industrial revolution.

 doc 9.  The creation of an empowered middle class should be a deliberate decision of government at all levels.

doc 10.   Young people aren't just young people anymore. They're now millennials, CEOs. They're backbone of the nation.

 doc 11.     They have lost touch with reality who generically say Nigerian youths don't know what they want. There must be deliberate policies aimed at putting young people to work to harness their massive potentials for national development.

 doc 12.     To ensure our local content can meet the demand of industrial revolution, government must fund technical education.
