1. Nigeria, home of my birth;
Of you, I cease not to dream;
Sweet dreams under the sparkling
stars of night;
And sweet dreams in the quiet and
confidence of my spirit.
2. Nigeria, how great are your struggles;
How great you have been afflicted
and affrighted;
You sons and daughters divided along
parochial interests;
But I dream a new dawn for you.
3. I dream a new Nigeria;
Where democracy's roots are
sure and firm;
I dream a new Nigeria;
Where the people's voice are heard,
respected and considered.
4. I dream a new Nigeria;
Where kids can dream and
aspire greatness;
I dream a new Nigeria;
Where kids raised by poor parents
can become leaders of their country.
5. I dream a new Nigeria;
Where ideologies forms the basis
of our political conviction;
I dream a new Nigeria;
Where national interest supercedes
individual and sectional interests.
6. I dream a new Nigeria;
Where the Green-White-Green flag
would fly with pride, honour and dignity.
I dream a new Nigeria;
Where political elements collectively
pursue one nationhood.
7. I dream a new Nigeria;
Where all tribes and regions unite
as one for common purpose;
I dream a new Nigeria;
Where tolerance, brotherhood, love
and selflessness triumphs.
8. Oh Nigeria, home of my birth;
Of you, I cease not to dream;
Sweet dreams under the sparkling
stars of the night;
And sweet dreams in the quiet
and confidence of my spirit.
9. May Providence come to your aid;
May the Invisible and Infallible Hands
of God steer your affairs;
May leaders come from your womb,
oh Nigeria;
Home of my birth, Land of my nativity,
I'll hope for the best for you.
